And it is annoying because with a bit more work I think there is a lot more potential to be taken from these characters. Even if you want to make them caricatures. And even when you go towards the humor end of things, you have to work on your character otherwise it just will not come across. Like the idea of the angel which was well thought in comparison to how the world was build. It is just such a shame because there are some really awesome ideas in here. There are also too many characters for the amount of pages to really remember. We are weirdly thrown in with a random scene and then all of a sudden slow down when we move to other characters. There was not enough time taken to build the world properly. But that is almost where it ends.īecause the writing is honestly not up there. Who even comes up with that? Sin du Jour is an interesting concept. It stands out from the crowd just for that. I love the idea of a supernatural catering. Was this more on the humor side or is it more of a serious thing? I can tell you I think it means to fall more towards the humor side. How can that not make you curious? It made me so curious. A supernatural catering service, basically. ![]() But reading the synopsis instantly captured me. Honestly I had never heard of this book before it was offered as a free ebook in the tor newsletter for a few days.
